There are routes by boat or caique to the beaches on Leros and to other

The Archeological Museum
The Archeological Museum is located on the road going down, that joins
Platanos with the harbour of Agia Marina. It is housed in the renovated
building of the old Astiki Sholi which was built in 1882 and financed by
the Lerian brotherhood in Cairo. In its forecourt there were once mosaics
from the early Christian church of Partheni.

General state archives – the local archive of Leros
The local archive of Leros (part of the general state archives) is held in
the square of Platanos, next to the town hall. It is housed on the ground
floor of the neoclassical building which once housed the local council,
and which was built in 1899 by Nikolaos Tsigadas. The archive contains
valuable historical information about the island, as well as the original
Italian architectural designs.

The Mpeleni Tower
The imposing tower of Mpeleni exists on the beach of Alinta and was built
by the Lerian ex-patriate and benefactor Parisis Mpelenis. Today it houses
the historical and folklore museum “Manolis Isihos” which has precious
exhibits from the contemporary history of the island.
